Ottawa Senators captain Erik Karlsson has taken on a new position: the twenty six year old professional hockey player will be representing Mark Motors as the official Porsche brand ambassador for the next year.
Born in Landsbro, Sweden, Karlsson was selected by the Senators in the first round (15th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He has since evolved into one of the NHL’s top players, becoming a two-time winner of the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the NHL's best defenseman, winning the award in 2012 and 2015.
“I have had the privilege to be associated with some great brands, but now to be partners with Porsche is such an amazing honor,” said Karlsson of his newest position.
For Mark Motors, the choice of Karlsson as brand ambassador was simple. Karlsson is an exceptional athlete who performs at a top level every game, very similar to the Porsche brand. His passion for community involvement is also inspiring, making him the perfect candidate to represent Mark Motors Porsche.
"Erik Karlsson is an exceptional athlete. He combines top performance in his sport with determination and power. These are precisely the qualities that are embroiled in our sports cars,” said Dealer Princple of Mark Motors Porsche Michael Mrak.
A Porsche brand ambassador is someone who represents Mark Motors Porsche in a positive light, connecting the community to the brand, and help to increase brand awareness. Driving in the latest Porsche fleet, Karlsson will attend a couple of exclusive Mark Motors Porsche events and promote the brand on social media.
