In the mid 50’s, Louis Mrak, founder of Mark Motors landed in Canada at the famous Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. From there he took the train into Bourget, Quebec where he lived and worked as a mechanic at a small shop in Rockland. It was not too long after that he aspired to take on his own shop which became a reality after he met his wife, Margaret Mrak. Margaret, arrived at around the same time as Louis in the mid 50’s and worked at the famous Chateau Laurier. She was a Nanny for a family who lived at the hotel and quickly learned the generosity and beautiful spirit of the Canadian country. After the two met, they were quickly engaged not only with each other but about starting a small European car service center on Montreal Rd. in Ottawa, Ontario. The small service center soon became the place where you would find there four children Andreas, Michael, Vincent and Liza hanging out, running around or working. The small service center continued to grow despite some of the hurdles of the automotive industry and as a result of their patience and hard work, became a well-recognized premium car dealership.
